PUTERA SAMPOERNA FOUNDATION

The history of the Sampoerna Schools System reveals our dedication to the improvement of education in Indonesia. Established in 2001, the Putera Sampoerna Foundation (PSF) is the first social business institution in Indonesia with the vision to produce high caliber Indonesian future leaders and entrepreneurs who are able to face global challenges, contribute and bring positive changes to their respective communities.

PSF counts itself among those seeking to put the nation on equal footing with all the other global citizens. It strives to do so through the Sampoerna Schools System, the first fully integrated education system in Indonesia providing a seamless pathway from pre-school through to an international tertiary education.

PSF also provides services to improving the quality of schools and educators in Indonesia. Supported by experienced professionals in the field of education, it has comprehensive and flexible programs that are aimed to increase teachers’ competencies, develop students’ character, achieve transparency in school governance, and build a proactive school community.

To date, PSF has awarded over 38,997 scholarships, adopted more than 600 public schools and madrasah, trained over 31,000 teachers and principals, and drawn more than 1,000 students to join the Sampoerna Schools System.

SAMPOERNA SCHOOLS SYSTEM
PSF is the umbrella administrative and legal holding entity encompassing all of the educational endeavors of the Sampoerna Schools System. The system is made up of the Sampoerna Academy that applies an internationally-recognized curriculum with a focus on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math); and the Sampoerna University, a tertiary education institution that offers U.S. degrees through its top American partner universities, and international pathways where students can transfer credits earned in Jakarta to their chosen university in the U.S.

Each element of the Sampoerna Schools System is governed individually and in accordance with the Indonesian regulations, as well as the regulations of the appropriate U.S. government or international accreditation institutions.

The Sampoerna Schools System’s internationally-recognized curricula, modern facilities, and exhilarating teaching style will ignite the leadership potential that is within every student and prepare them to become work ready, world ready and ready to lead.

SAMPOERNA ACADEMY
Sampoerna Academy provides a strong foundation in both established international pedagogy and English language skills in order to prepare students for the rigors of the U.S. higher education at Sampoerna University or in the United States.

Sampoerna Academy has worked with two leading U.S. Charter Schools for curriculum development and teacher training and accreditation, they are The Harmony Charter Schools which specializes in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (“STEAM”) education and the KIPP (Knowledge is Power Program) Charter Schools which specializes in incorporating character-building pedagogy into all aspects of student life.

SAMPOERNA UNIVERSITY
Sampoerna University achieved accreditation by the Ministry of Education and Culture, Republic of Indonesia, in 2013, after joining the previously accredited Sampoerna School of Education (Est. 2009) and the Sampoerna School of Business (Est. 2010) and adding, in accordance with the Ministry’s Regulations, the Faculty of Engineering and Technology. Today, Sampoerna University has three departments: Engineering and Technology, Business, and Education.

STUDENT-PARENT ADVISORY CENTER

The Student-Parent Advisory Center (SPAC) opened in 2016 in order to provide a comprehensive educational advising service to Indonesians interested in better understanding their options for obtaining an international primary, secondary or tertiary education. It also provides advising and career planning services for current students and their families in insuring that their academic and career goals are achieved. SPAC is also the organization that assists parents and their families interested in obtaining American bachelor’s degrees via transfer from the Sampoerna University American College.
