New Student Admissions Process

Prospective students must fill out a complete application form and submit it for review, along with the student’s academic credentials.

Students wishing to transfer their previously obtained course credits must get their transcript commercially assessed. Contact the admissions department for information related to credit transfers. Once the credits are assessed, they must be sent to Broward College for final approval. 


You will receive a Conditional Letter of Acceptance to SUAC and will need to pay your application fee and deposit via bank transfer to:

At this stage, prospective students sit for the a placement test to find out their level of college readiness. The test used by the college is the Accuplacer, which tests for English and Math college readiness. This assessment determines not only the level of classes students are to take on semester one, it also indicates the number of credits to be taken in the first year.
For prospective students, who have previously studied at college level or higher and wishing to transfer their previously obtained credits to SUAC. Please submit your commercially evaluated transcript to Admissions for evaluation.

First-time college students attend a New Student Orientation (NSO). Students who are fully admitted, meet with their academic advisors and register for classes during orientation week.

Transferring students will consult with academic advisors to discuss credit transferability (if applicable).

Bring your study plan to the Bursar’s office to calculate the amount of tuition to be paid, based on the number of credits to be taken. Tuition and fee payments are done through a bank transfer to the designated University’s bank account.
Contact the admissions department for specific information regarding tuition payments.

The final step in the admissions process is to get your student ID from the Academic Registry. Some courses come with free online textbooks and some may require students to purchase a book. The university library provides limited copies of textbooks.

Application Deadlines

The application process must be completed and all required documentation submitted to the college by observing the following deadlines.
● For the Fall Term: 30 June;
● For the Spring Term: 31 October; and
● For the Summer Term: 1 March
